SciFi and Fantasy Art: Respect for the DeadA picture I did for the Conquer Elfwood card game. It took a long time. I'm especially proud of the background, cos I usually avoid them like the plague.

There is alot of detail in this picture and I give you a pat on the back for being brave to do a background and I have to agree that some backgrounds can be pain in the back side, cuz you can be afraid that you might screw up, but You done really well with this one. Cool!
| 10 Oct 2001 | Chelsey Eaton | Oh poor thing. hmmm it looks like someone hit her in the back of the head and her mouth is bleeding because the force of the blow caused her to bite her tounge. *shivers* Well I'm morbid. This is beautiful even if it is said, the colours are great. | |
| 12 Dec 2002 | Shawn Patrick Reed | Colored pencil? :\ I can only imagine how much time that would have taken... The only thing I, being the picky picky person I am *believe me, that's irony*, need to pick out, is that there is very little expression on their faces. Not that the features aren't correct, but they're surprisingly passive... much like the mosaics one might see of medieval artwork that portrays people... Conquerer card game? !! I did not know there was a card game put together by elfwood.... *gets that hungry look in eyes* I always enjoy card games. Ccgs, or just plain poker. ...I haven't read anything about it yet, but does anyone play the game around here? (conquerer) If so, I'd be more than happy to jump into the thick of it. Ludovica Wing Shuen Price replies: "I haven't been on the Conquer card game site for a while now, so I'm not too sure whether it's been completed yet. It hasn't strictly been put together by the EW management, just Elfwood artists. Check it out through the link " | |
| 20 Mar 2003 | Emily Rose Betzler | Sad. Very sad. I like it, tho. I like the background, the rocks look like they are tinted red. They are tinted red, what I mean to say is that it gives a nice effect. I like the monk, or priest, or whatever you want to call it, very well done. And the lady does look very dead. I love the colors on her! And nice blood effect. But I think, if you wanted her to look a bit deader, you should have the eye that's closest to the ground staring up a bit more, so both eyes look unfocused. How they are now kind of makes them look like they are focused on something. Nice job, keep it up! Ludovica Wing Shuen Price replies: "Thanks for the comment and the advice on her eyes, which I agree with. I'm not so pleased with this picture as I was a couple of years back, and I think now I would definitely make some changes to it!" | |
| 24 Mar 2003 | Vengance | Who killed her and why? Ok I ask that about all dead warriors. If I know who to kill in revenge it helps. Mwahahaha(evil laugh) Ludovica Wing Shuen Price replies: "Sorry, I don't know who killed her, so I guess that can be left up to your imagination I just read the requirements and drew it " | |
| 5 Oct 2003 | Jessamyn Faedaughter | Ooooh, I love it! I just have to know everything! **Cries** This is so sad... But I must know: Is she some one special, or mere;ly one of many? How many fell? Is she the only one? Who is the man behind her? Did he love her before she died? I:f he loved her, was it a secret from afar? TELL ME AAAAALLL!!! Ludovica Wing Shuen Price replies: "The man behind her is a travelling monk who is wandering through the battlefield and is praying for the souls of the fallen." | |
| 20 Dec 2004 | Emily the strange | VRY VRY nice drawing and vry ironic how u supposedly suck at backgrounds (cant b tru this is awesome) and my strength in drawing is backgrounds | |
| 24 Jan 2005 | Anonymous | The little red pennant is an especially nice touch... | |
| 27 Jul 2006 | Anonymous | She seems a little alive to be dead. I mean the eyes look like their wandering... | |
| 10 May 2007 | Teriow | this sort of thing happens. artists should not shy from it and writers should not exclude it. it's a part of nature and should be respected, the monk is a nice thing to have because even in a world of constant conflict its nice to know that someone will morn your passing.
in fact i think i will go right now and write a short story where all the main characters die. but I'm going to make it a happy occasion somehow.
